Line4Line is on a mission to boost literacy in our community by providing free access to amazing books through our Book of the Month Program and In-or-Out of School Instruction.
Each book is carefully curated for students, families, and educators to celebrate own-voice stories, is packed with gorgeous illustrations and relatable narratives, and offers kids opportunities to see windows and mirrors.
LEARN
Windows and mirrors in children’s literature are super important! When kids spot mirrors – glimpses of themselves in a story – it tells them, "Hey, you matter!" They see they're a vital piece of the social puzzle.
And those windows? They offer peeks into other people's lives, helping kids realize that everyone else is a big deal too. We’re all in this story together!
CREATE
By pairing high-quality picture books with an opportunity to create, youth are offered a chance to continue thinking about what they’ve learned in the story while experiencing freedom of expression through art.
Through these exercises, students begin to see their power to create their future and shape their community!
