Come join the barbers at O’Neils Barbershop and Beauty Salon on the first Monday of each month, between 4-7pm, where boys aged 4-16 can enjoy free haircuts in exchange for reading books aloud alongside a mentor. Plus, we've got reading resources, games, activities, and FREE BOOKS to take home, along with a healthy dinner. Sign up for this program takes place at the event, with haircuts provided on a first come first serve basis.

In 2024 Haircut for Reading grew to include guest barbershop collaborations, bringing the program to other zip codes in our community and with the opening of Youth City Lab in 2026 . The Haircut for Reading Program expands into the Youth City Lab creating more access.
